In the Old Testament, God spoke primarily via the prophets and leaders of the community and the people obeyed the direction of the mandate given via their authorities. To a certain degree we still do this today in the church.
However, in this new era of Holy Spirit life, we are all connected directly to God and all have the chance to have a vibrant and spiritual vocal relationship with Him.
